Umi Buffet: the most varied new seafood and hot pot buffet in Alexandria
Umi Buffet, a growing franchise specializing in seafood, hot pot, and ramen, opened September 12 in Alexandria on King Street at Beauregard Street. Lunch runs $25.99 weekdays; dinner is $39.99.
Umi Buffet opened on September 12 in the former TGI Fridays building at King Street and Beauregard Street in Alexandria, just east of Bailey's Crossroads. The TGI Fridays closed in October 2024.
The buffet specializes in hot pot, sushi, snow crab legs, oysters and shrimp, with more seafood, ramen and meat dishes. Umi says its seafood is flown in fresh daily, so the crab legs and oysters are the best reason to pick the dinner buffet.
Lunch is $25.99, Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dinner is $39.99, Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 10 p.m. and Friday from 3:30 to 10:30 p.m. On Saturday the buffet is $39.99 from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Seniors and military members get 10 percent off.
Umi is a franchise with more than 30 U.S. restaurants. The only other one in Virginia is in Henrico, outside Richmond, and there is one in Rockville, Maryland, making Alexandria the most convenient Umi for most of Northern Virginia.
